The Spirit in You

Having been told by his parents to go and talk to his Godfather, the boy went through the door and into the darkened room.
His Godfather sat on a couch before a window. Golden shafts of light fell through the slits on to the floor. The smell of incense filled the room.
The boy felt uncomfortable as he sat on a chair facing his Godfather. ‘My parents said you wanted to see me?’
The Godfather turned to face him. ‘Yes.’ He looked into the boy’s eyes. ‘What do you know about God?’
‘Nothing,’ said the boy, scratching his arm absentmindedly.
‘You know He exists?’
‘Yes,’ said the boy uncertainly.
The Godfather leaned back in his chair, and nodded. ‘He exists. He created the universe, and everything in it.’
‘Oh.. Is that all you wanted to tell me?’ He wanted to go.
The Godfather looked at him intently. ‘Pay attention. What I’m telling you is important. God has a family. A son. Do you know who his son is?’
The boy paused. ‘Jesus?’
‘Yes,’ said the Godfather. ‘And Jesus is also God.’
‘So God is two people?’
‘That’s right. And there’s something else. This is the thing that I wanted to tell you. There’s a third person who is also God. That person is the Holy Spirit. Do you know who the Holy Spirit is?’
The boy was silent for a long time. ‘Who?’ He looked into his Godfather’s eyes. They were filled with mercy.
‘You,’ said the Godfather.
