Man's Best Friend
by Michael S. Collins

Rex possessed the young girl kindly. He entered her mind and barked appreciatively. He reassured her frightened mind with a kind wag of his tail. Her thoughts fought against him. Rex saw out of her strange human eyes: limited colours, and a scary looking black dog!

“So that’s what I look like. No wonder she feels scared!” He thought to himself.

“Who are you?” Her thoughts seemed to say.

“I’m Rex.” Said Rex. “You are going to die, but don’t worry, it’ll be painless.”

The girl’s mind began to whimper.

“Why do they always cry when I say that?” he thought.

Then he ate her.

It’s not an easy life, being a devil dog.
