Fantastic Fran
by M. Allman
Fantastic
Fran used her x-ray vision to see which room the
children were hidden in, then with her laser
finger, she cut a hole in the wall and saved them.
Our super hero has done it again, saved the day
while keeping her ordinary housewife identity a
secret.
With that
paragraph, Lois finished the third installment of
her series of Fantastic Fran's Adventures.
Lois glanced
at her watch. It was six o’clock, and she
still had to thaw out the roast for supper that
evening. She bounced into the kitchen and grabbed
the meat from the freezer.
“A late
supper again,” Her husband, Tom complained,
chewing on a carrot stick.
Lois began
staring at the frozen meat trying to thaw it out
with her x-ray eyes, but she was startled by
Tom’s voice.
“You
don’t have x-ray eyes, Lois, so thaw it in
the microwave.” Tom shook his head.
“I
don’t know what you mean; I was just
thinking is all.” Lois put the meat in the
microwave and started supper.
****************
That night
while getting ready for bed, Tom noticed Lois
wearing red tights underneath her robe. “For
pity sake Lois, you are not a super hero. I’m
gonna call Doctor Granger at home”
“No
don’t! My legs were cold that’s all.”
As Tom turned
to walk away, Lois pointed her laser
finger at him. She had to stop him from giving
away her identity.
“Lois, I
know you’re pointing your laser finger at me.
Give it up. I’m not scared.” Tom went
into the kitchen to call the doctor. “Hello.
Doctor Granger, Lois is at it again, but this
time she’s even wearing the tights.”
Tom noticed a shadowy figure in the tree outside.
“You better come quick. She’s outside
in a tree, saving a cat.”
