flustered.
“Huh?” mumbled
Lambert.
“The synapse .
. . Are they firing the way they should?”
“What do you mean?
What are synap . . .?”
“They connect your
thoughts. When they’re messed up, your head
gets all blocked and you can’t think
straight.”
“Oh, that’s what
you mean. Well, I guess mine are okay. But when
they’re not, I take a decongestant.”
