Tenure Decisions

The university hires people
it deems the best and six years later it fires
them because they are.

The members of the tenure
committee evaluated Carrie’s bid for tenure
and decided to grant it because they were
confident she would not exceed their mediocrity.

The decision was split as
to whether to grant a member of the department
tenure. Half of the voting professors were
against the candidate because they didn’t
like her, and the other half of the voting
professors really didn’t like her.
