Barry responded, “There are worse ways to go than hooked up to a ventilator. You could find yourself in the middle of an ocean with the fin of a shark moving toward you. How about bleeding out on a stretch of remote highway? Then there’s falling out of a window onto a spiked fence. Would you prefer being blown to shreds by a terrorist? Or there’s always getting tortured to death by a psychopath. You could . . .”

“Okay, okay!” interrupted his friend, “I’ll take all of the IVs and wires, the humiliating physical probing, and the constant interruptions by doctors and nurses . . . Actually, come to think of it, tell me more about being in the middle of the ocean with the fin of a shark moving toward you.”
