A Vital Question
by Michael A. Kechula

“When will the world end?” I asked Swami Salami.

“In about 3 days.”

“Can you be more precise?”

“No. Solar flares are interfering with the vibes I receive from The Illustrious Poobah.”

“Can you call him?”

“That’d be outrageously expensive. He resides in another galaxy.”

“The precise time of the end of the world is vital to my interplanetary business interests. Make the call and charge it to me.”

“That's very good of you. Everyone in the universe will be indebted to you for your fabulous generosity.”

Swami Salami made the call.

“The World will end in two days, twenty-one minutes, and thirty-seven seconds,” said Illustrious Poobah.

He lied!

Three weeks later, I’ve got a long distance phone bill for $740,387,821,492,184.

I’d appreciate if everyone who reads this sends a donation to help me. I just need $328,727 from every person in the universe.

Unfortunately, donations are not tax deductible.
