Rue de Vicheries,
                Guernsey
                by R L Tilley
                Behind the
sweep of Rocquaine Bay and flanking the Rue de
Vicheries lay the orchid fields. The dog and I
walk there morning and evening, me delighting in
the painted impressionist beauty of the meadows
where the orchids grow among the grasses. I
imagine some Monet sitting there with easel,
canvas, oils, brushes, capturing this beauty
forever. I would walk here and walk here and walk
                here to seasons end.
                There are
goats in a field beside a farmhouse. Three goats
and a pony graze in an adjacent field.
